Brisket isn’t a typical Thanksgiving meat, but it the one I love the most.  The rest of our Thanksgiving meal is pretty traditional.  It’s just that I really wanted the items to be made from scratch and some side dishes I wanted to make ahead, because Thanksgiving Day can be CRAZY!  The only thing I haven’t yet been able to make better is Stove Top Stuffing.  It’s just so easy and good.

But everything else, we have mostly mastered.

On normal days we usually eat one meat, one carb and a side of veggies per meal.  So, writing this down seems a little extravagant and is making me feel stuffed.  But on Thanksgiving Day, my plate mostly consists of Brisket, Sweet Potato Casserole and Cranberry Sauce with some pie and ice cream as my dinner.  But, Thanksgiving is a day where you get to pick your favorites.  I hope maybe some of our favorites can become some of your favorites.

  1. Smoked Brisket (Made through the night)
  2. Beef Gravy
  3. Make Ahead Mashed Potatoes (The key is baking them, not boiling them.)
  4. Sweet Potato Casserole (Which I also make ahead)
  5. Sweet / Sourdough Dinner Rolls (Made ahead and frozen)
  6. Bacon, Green Bean Casserole (Made ahead except for the topping)
  7. Roasted Brussels Sprouts
  8. Stove Top Stuffing (For the fun of it)
  9. Gpa Hank’s Cranberry Sauce (Made ahead)
  10. Kiera’s Berry Cobbler Crisp (Hmmm, I think I mostly make everything ahead of time.  Like all three of these desserts)
  11. Pumpkin Pie Bars
  12. Apple Crisp
  13. Pumpkin Roll (Which I don’t actually make for Thanksgiving.  I just make it in Fall for Friday Fun Nights)

Here is the picture I use for my “Thanksgiving” divider page in case you want one too. 🙂

Also, I have our entire 5 Week Meal Plan here.

(Each picture will take you to that specific recipe.  Save each recipe image.  I like to print them and keep them in a three ring binder with plastic sleeves and divider tabs.)

I have also created a KITCHEN BASICS GUIDE for young women.  If you are starting to build up your kitchen supplies, don’t waste your money on sets.  Just get the best of the basics.
