How can you go from excuses and failures to real lasting changes?  You need to focus on today.  You need to imagine who you want to be and what it takes to be that.  You need to imagine the life you want to live, then you need to change 10 or 20 or 30 minutes of your day to make it happen.

BUILD BETTER DAILY HABITS RIGHT NOW

 Prov. 22:29 Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.

Now, I don’t mean start on Monday.  I mean start today.  Start right now.

If your goal is to finish 10 books this year, then scratch that off the list and say, “I don’t care if I read 10 books.  I am just going to be a reader.  Tonight I will put down my phone before bed and open up a book instead.”  Then do it.

Don’t wait until Monday.  Be the person you want to be today.  If you envision yourself as that person, be it.

In Prov. 22:29, we see that it takes diligence is what takes you from every day and average to excellence.  It takes effort, but it is worth it.

BUILD BETTER DAILY HABITS BY PUTTING IT IN YOUR SCHEDULE

 Romans 12:11, Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;

My hardest habit to develop is that of exercising.  I have good days and I have bad days, but the person I want to be is someone who has healthy habits.  Therefore, I look at my day and say, “This is the time of day I will exercise.”  Then I do it.

I have been sick, and sometimes I have been busy and I have not been able to get it done,  but I never eliminate it from my schedule.  Once I eliminate the daily habit schedule allotment, I have set myself up for failure.

When I read Rom. 12:11 I am reminded that when I choose diligence over slothfulness it is in service to the Lord.  I am being a good steward of my time management.  Build better daily habits by putting it in your schedule.

BUILD BETTER DAILY HABITS BY MAKING DAILY BIBLE READING A PRIORITY

Psalm 119:105, Thy word [is] a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

I know that for years, since I read the book Ten Peas In A Pod, I decided to follow their example of Bible reading.  It motivated me, and I have been very consistent in my devotions for nearly 10 years.  It changed my daily habits. I have grown so much spiritually because of it.  I have never regretted it and I recommend for everyone to read it.

Build the best habit ever by setting aside time for daily Bible reading.
