What do you do when you are frustrated waiting on the Lord?

In today’s episode I share our story of this exact scenario and what we have learned, what we did and I what I would do if I had to do it all over again.

KEY POINTS

1. I share our story of waiting and what God has taught us.
2. Make the very most of your life right now by adding elements into your day & week that are known to bear good fruit, such as:
3. Sundays – Give God the first fruits of your week.  Go to church.  Serve in church.  If you have the opportunity, spend the afternoon in ministry that isn’t dependent upon a church position.  Like one-on-one discipleship, social media ministry, nursing home, or canvassing a new area with gospel door hangers.
4. Mon – Fri – Begin your days with good stewardship of your health, spiritual nourishment and household maintenance. (i.e. tidying your room, doing one weekly chore, starting laundry, daily bible reading, prayer walk, nourishing breakfast, strength training and flexibility.)
5. Mon – Fri – Do your day job for God’s glory alone and not for status or as “menpleasers.”
6. Mon – Fri – Make and enjoy a nourishing dinner and set aside some extra for lunch the next day (for whoever heads out to work the next day).  Tidy the kitchen, put away any laundry and “close up shop.”
7. Mon – Fri – After your “close up shop” take time to get outside, balance your blood sugar by doing something active your enjoy and get those dopamine / reward hits by checking off your mental checklist for the day.  Reflect on a job well done.
8. Weeknights – Purposefully connect with people you love and communicate with them somehow.  Mid-week church service and activities, maybe a leisurely conversation after dinner, or on a walk in person or on a phone call, or invite friends over on Friday night for a game night.
9. Saturdays – A day of leisure with no schedule: sleep in, dream of ideas, hike or ride a bike, plan for the future, create something, read a good book in the sunshine and be inspired.
10. At the end of each day – Turn on some godly music, give thanks, smile, pack your gym bag for the next day, brush & floss your teeth, wash & moisturize your face, snuggle in a blanket and read a good book so that you can continue to grow and develop as an individual.

In conclusion: In the midst of all of this, never stop being intentional about pursuing open doors for whatever it is you are “waiting on the Lord.”  Don’t give up.  Don’t stop seeking opportunities, but don’t stop being intentional about living today either.

As always, thanks for being here and thanks for being my friend.
