Music: Neutral, Good or Evil? - Complete Video Series

A personal note from Truth and Song: We were searching for truth. That was our goal. We saw the Transformational Power of CCM in a very real way and needed to find answers. It was hard to be honest with this information in our own lives. We realized that to be consistent we had to change some things, but we knew the pricks in our hearts were from truth. But this is the truth we discovered on our journey.

The topic of music really boils down to a logical progression of questions. Are certain styles of music Good Trees, Evil Trees, or not a tree at all? Can a style of music bare fruit, and if it does bare fruit than mustn’t it be a tree? If it is a tree, than can we identify it as one that bares good fruit, or one that bares evil? If you mix a good tree with an evil, can you keep it from bringing forth it’s evil fruit along with the good?

Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Mat 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Mat 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
Mat 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Mat 7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Mat 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

If you truly are wanting to research the question about music, it’s history, and whether it is moral or amoral you can find plenty of information out there. Secular rock performers are very open about how they feel about it. Contemporary Christian artists and listeners have their viewpoint. But from the Conservative Christian point of view, this video series holds the best research we have ever found … and we have done a lot of researching.

The presenter of the video series is very passionate about this topic and is continually updating his research and videos to keep them current. If you are honestly seeking answers, we believe that to ignore these videos would be a disservice to your Lord in your spiritual growth and becoming “fully persuaded” (Rom 14) in this powerful topic of music.

Still, we recognize that not everyone can change everything right away, in the same time frame or in the same spots. God’s work is a patient thing, and as long as we are not rejecting the light, He is very gracious as He leads us one step at a time.
